Gaginang Conference

Learn Teochew

Here are some resources for learning or brushing up on Teochew. To find people to actively practice with and more resources, we recommend you join the Gaginang discord!

  • What TC Say: Dictionary app of Teochew words, available for iOS and Android

  • Teochew Unfolded: Instagram account with frequent updates of new vocabulary, with audio and characters

  • Learn Teochew with Ah-Boon: Website with a variety of resources compiled by a fellow Teochew learner!

  • Wikisource: Digitized dictionary from 1883, still very comprehensive

  • ISO Project: Initiative working towards achieving ISO 639-3 designation for Teochew in order to enable the creation of Teochew-specific resources such as audio recordings, Teochew-specific pages in Wikipedia, Duolingo support, etc. If you'd like to contribute, please join the Gaginang Discord.

  • Teochew Language Project Month: Want to help save and promote the Teochew language? Join or lead a team for three weeks with projects listed here. Please fill out this form before July 25th (HST) if you are interested in participating.
